Women’s health

There are various health experiences that affect women, or those individuals who were identified as female at birth. While health issues can be physical issues, women can also find it useful to access therapeutic support to address some of the psychological and emotional anxieties or difficulties that arise alongside these experiences. Having worked in the women’s public health system for fifteen years, I have a long history of supporting women psychologically and emotionally at these times. Women may therefore find it helpful to access counselling support when they undergo the following life events/ health issues:

  • Pregnancy and childbirth
  • Traumatic birth experiences
  • Pregnancy loss (e.g. miscarriage, stillbirth)
  • Unplanned pregnancies
  • Pregnancy termination
  • Vaginismus
  • Chronic pain (e.g. endometriosis, or pelvic pain)
  • Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD/ PMS)
  • Perimenopause and menopause
  • Reproductive cancers
